Venetic is a member of the Indo-European language family. Because of the paucity of the preserved texts, it cannot be with certainity affiliated to any language branch. It is attested by about 350 inscriptions found in north-eastern Italy, dating from the 6th to the 1st century BC. The texts are either votive or funerary inscriptions written on bronze object, in stone or on terracotta vases.
There is no attested example of adjective valence.
